RING – youth stage

There is no point in fooling oneself any more. For ordinary young people the theatre is an outdated institution. Everything here seems to be distant from real life (their life!), everything is regulated by strict rules, starting with the clearly defined spatial separation between US (the audience) and THEM (performers). The RING stage provides a chance to shake that separation, to break the stereotypes.
RING aims at creating a relationship similar to what happens between performers and listeners (participants) of music concerts. The stage and audience are not two separate worlds but one organism brought to life by sharing the rhythm. Actors do not pretend any more that they are not aware of the audience, to the contrary - they openly take advantage of its presence performing for and with the spectators and not against them.
Performances on the RING Stage have a quality of community experience; young spectators want to function as part of a group they can relate to, they want to express themselves within the group even if they simultaneously want to stand out in it. RING Stage provide opportunities for that.
